On July 13, 2005, the microSD (SD: Secure Digital) card was introduced. The microSD card was developed by SanDisk, who originally called it T-Flash. T-Mobile sent a cease-and-desist order to SanDisk shortly before launch of the product, causing SanDisk to rename the card TransFlash. The SDA (SD Card Association) made the TransFlash card the standard for smaller storage, under the name microSD.Added to timeline:
