jul 17, 2006 - One Laptop per Child Consortium

Description:

One Laptop per Child Consortium (OLPC) was a non profit organization that was determined to give millions of children in poor areas, their own laptop to maintain and use in school. The laptop was special because of its durability, the hand crank that would quickly charge the laptop, and its $100 cost that compared to a $1000 computer. The organization managed to ship millions of laptops out to kids all around the world, but the company has hit many rode blocks because of the laptops being to confusing for teachers to use. The laptops have a lot of issues with the hand cranks and are having security issues, but the company is still trying its best to resolve these problems, by making better versions of the laptops.
