jun 25, 1950 - Korean War

Description:

Following the defeat of Japan in WW2, Britain, the USA, and China, all made the Cairo Declaration, claiming that Korea should become a free and independent state. Stalin accepted this, and so along with the states in the Cairo Declaration, would occupy the state of Korea for the time being.

Soviets began quickly establishing local Communists into power, spreading across the country. Alarming the American policy of Containment, America proposed the country to be split in half through the 38th parallel, which would be accepted by the USSR.

The USA would go on to find out that a young Communist named Kim il Sung was plotting Communist takeover of the whole of Korea in its capital, Seoul. Syngman Rhee was the Democratic equivalent to Sung, only to find the Communists making the first move, mobilising 75,000 soldiers from the North, into the South.
