This act of immigration finally changed the perspective on immigration regulations. This act changed the idea from keeping immigrants out, to letting the hard working ones and families of immigrants in. Essentially filtering in the people who actually seek life in America instead of just leeching off it's goods and services. It ended most of the other quota based acts.Added to timeline:
