Description:
To prevent the expansion of the 'Iron Curtain', the US government would go on to financially support countries in Western Europe in order to discourage the appeal of Communism. US Secretary George Marshall developed this plan, giving over 12 Billion USD to these states as economic assistance.
*The Marshall Plan was also known as the ERP (European Recovery Program).
