The OLPC Initiative is a nonprofit organization with the goal of revolutionizing education by providing every child in the world with, as the name implies, a Laptop. Although criticized by big names such as Bill Gates, the movement created by Seymour Papert marks a fundamental shift in Information Technology, even if it is not an invention. The creation of this initiative and others like it seals the idea that Information Technology is going to become an intrinsic part of everyone's everyday life.
