The Moro Rebellion was started after the United States told the Moro people that they would resume the role that Spain was playing their country. After rejecting this, America agreed to the treaty, the Bates Treaty, which allowed the Moros the right to self govern and to even preserve slavery. While this was happening, America dealt with the Moros foreign affairs. After America won against the northern Philippine islands, they went to war against the Moros, and after winning, got rid of the Bates treaty. The war took place between 1899, and 1913.
