dec 31, 1916 - 18th Amendment
Description:
The 18th Amendment prohibited alcoholic beverages in the United States of America. It was considered illegal if it was produced, transported, and sale of it. However, private possession and consumption was not illegal. The ASL (Anti-Saloon League) lead a campaign claiming that banning the sale of alcohol would greatly scale down poverty and social issues. The 18th Amendment was ratified on December 18, 1917.
