jan 12, 1912 - Woodrow Wilson vs. William Howard Taft vs. Theodore Roosevelt vs. Eugene V. Debs

Description:

After what he thought was a poor display of his policies, Theodore ran against his hand picked successor as the Republican candidate. The Republican party ended up choosing Taft which caused Roosevelt to create his own party known as the Progressive party or the Bull Moose party. The Democrats nominated Woodrow Wilson while the Socialist party nominated for the fourth time, Eugene V. Debbs. Roosevelt and Wilson had most of the attention during the campaign as Wilson called for a return to small-scale business while Roosevelt called for strong regulatory powers. Wilson, in the end, won the election and it was shown that if the Republican party had not split, they may have won.
