jan 1, 1864 - Bloomer Cut
Description:
they were digging through steep terrain on the Bloomer Ranch near Auburn California to create tracks they dug 38 miles from Sacramento it was 800 feet long and 63 feet high. That was there first major event it was dangerous work. The Central Pacific hired 21 chinese people and a lot more that year to work on this project. The bloomer cut was completed on March 1865.
