jan 5, 1872 - Robert Koch And Anthrax In An Ox's Eye
Description:
Robert Koch became the father of Koch's Postulates, the method by which one proves which bacteria causes what disease. By taking anthrax from a dead cow, growing a culture in an ox's eye then transplanting a sample into a healthy cow and testing for the bacteria again when that cow died, he proved that anthrax was caused by that specific bacteria, proving that disease can be caused by bacteria.
