On October 1st, 2018, Verizon launched the world's first 5G wireless services, technically. In select cities, consumers wth Verizon home internet services were able to sign up for 5G networking for their WiFi. The speeds available are nowhere near the maximum possible speeds with 5G, but are still within gigabit speeds.
