The TV was invented in the mid 1920s by John Logie Baird. It was later presented in San Francisco in 1927th, the 7th of September and was slowly incorporated into mainstream society from that day.Since the TV was invented, the first sitcoms, news broadcasts and soaps were broadcasted in the 1950s.
The quantity of TVs being sold increased from 6,000 to 12 million in 5 years (1946-1951). This was because of the increase in number of programmes and the introduction of sitcoms, soaps and news broadcasts and became a part of mainstream culture.
