jan 1, 1888 - The first single lens camera patented

Description:

French-born Louis Aime Augustin Le Prince patented the first single lens camera in Leeds. The camera has one lens where the light would shine on and capture on to 2 inch wide sensitised paper. The camera also had a view finder for the user to look through to frame up their shot. However Prince and his camera went missing on a train journey heading for Paris

This is important the development of film making as some of the features such as the view finder are still used on cameras today.
