Due to criticism on video games releases that appeared too violent and inappropriate, some of the larger leading game providers at the time came together to establish an organized system of rating video games. The ratings were to be ranged from Early Childhood to Adult only and depending on how they saw fit, the video game would be placed in that proper category of rating.Added to timeline:
