Description:
The first ever TV was created by Philio Taylor Farnsworth on this date, however, the first commercially sold TV wasn't until 1938, which was an instant hit.
The TV changed the game for the film industry and of course, created the television industry.
During the war, the TV was extremely influential in terms of propaganda and advertising, beforehand it was the radio, but this was the first time moving images had been used in such a way and on such a mass scale. This kickstarted the biggest section of the television industry of advertisement and news; suddenly people could feel more attached and engrossed in the world around them, more than what the radio provided. People could see footage from around the world and later on film and television shows that would never have been consumed by that many people.
The TV changed the entertainment industry, soon after the TV was released it became America's number one consumption of media, moving other forms of art, like watching plays, to the side. The TV pushed the world into normalizing and developing the film industry as something accessible and global. Therefore developing the taste for this new way to consume entertainemtn.
Before the internet, this was probably the biggest leap in the entertainment industry of how media can be consumed and enjoyed by the world.
