The plan uses a hybrid of central and elongated basilica forms to in a cruciform shape. Its barrel vaults and domed ceiling house mosaics of the four evangelists and a cross emblazoned on a field of stars. Alabaster windows let light in to play on the brilliant mosaics.
Christ as the Good Shepherd: Christ is dressed in gold and purple robes seated in a paradisal setting among his flock. The scene is full of verdant plants and flowing streams evoking Eden and the promise of a heavenly paradise in the afterlife
