jan 1, 1925 - Vitaphone
Description:
Instead of recording audio along with the film, the Vitaphone system was a 16 inch disc that played at 33.3RPM. It was invented by Warner Bros, and used on most of their short films.
This was important as this was one of the first methods for getting audio on a film. It had it's upsides compared to the slightly later released Movietone.
