Description:

The first Battle of Kiev occurred in 1941, and the second Battle of Kiev occurred in 1943. The second Battle of Kiev was part of a much bigger Soviet offensive in Ukraine, which was known as the Battle of the Dnieper. In the end the Soviet Union won the fight. There were 38,194 casualties throughout the battle. Overall, the Soviet Union took over Kiev and also caused many casualties towards the German forces.
