jan 12, 1775 - Lexington and Concord
Description:
Around April, a spy told British General Gage, that the colonists were hiding a supply of weapons and gunpowder in the village of Concord. General Gage decided that he could kill two birds with one stone; win a battle, and take or destroy the colonists’ supplies. Gage had 700 of his most skilled men to attack Concord. Colonists were alerted of this right away by their spies and alerted the colonies. Paul Revere was one of the most famous Patriots that warned the colonies that “The British are coming! The British are coming!” By the time the British got to Concord, the colonists had hidden the weapons, throwing the British into a rage. They took gun carriages and set them aflame.
