Named “Stand in the Schoolhouse Door”, Governor Wallace of Alabama stands in front of the door to the University of Alabama. He also said this infamous quote: “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”. His goal was to block two African American students, Vivian Malone and James Wood from going to university at the school.
