The war on terror occurred on September 11th 2001, after the tragedy that happened to the Twin Towers, George Bush (president of US) got on live television and said "It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated" They found the terrorists who did 9/11. But it is important because technically the war on terror isn't over because their are still terrorists all over the world that they have not "stopped or defeated"
