mar 18, 1766 - Repeal of stamp act and passage of declaratory acts
Description:
The British wanted to acknowledge the colonial efforts to protest and boycott their taxation, and thus were forced to repeal the Stamp Act. However, in exchange they issued the Declaratory Act which stated that the colonies were under full control of Parliament. The colonists largely ignored the Declaratory Act and felt accomplished by their successful petitioning to repeal the Stamp Act.
