Description:
The British used the Quartering Act, which forced families to adopt British soldiers into their households, in order to ensure that Indian raids could be mitigated, and to try and enforce to the Proclamation Of 1763. The Colonists response to this was mainly nonviolent, as they disputed the legality of the act, seeing that it violated the established law.
