apr 27, 1773 - Tea acts

Description:

The British did not want to recede in their taxation policies and wanted money to circulate within the British ecosystem. Although the act actually lowered the price of tea, it also reduced the choices of tea that colonists had, and established a monopoly for the East India Company. The colonists were extremely aggravated and some continued with boycotts and protests. However, a group by the name of The Sons Of Liberty, boarded a british ship carrying tea and threw a large quantity of cargo into the ocean. This was done by the colonists as they saw the Tea Acts as a direct violation of their established rights.
