sep 19, 1796 - George Washingtons Farewell Address

Description:

George warns against long-term foreign alliances that might undermine the sovereignty of the United States. Washington urged Americans to avoid excessive political party spirit and geographical distinctions. George Washington wrote this letter to hopefully influence the mind of all Americans to hopefully change their mind about politics and allies. The address was printed in Philadelphia's American Daily Advertiser on September 19, 1796.
