At towns of Lexington and Concord in the Province of Massachusetts Bay
Beginning of the Revolutionary War. The British aimed to capture colonial leaders and war supplies to prevent the colonists from launching a successful revolt against them. After the colonist learnt from an inside source, Joseph Warren dispatched two couriers to alert residents of the British’s march. Thanks to this, they managed to relocate the vast majority of their supplies before the British arrived. The hostility by the British was questioned by the colonists. The questionable motives of the British’s hostility further fueled the resistance.
