mar 24, 1765 - Quartering Act

Description:

This act required all colonists to house soldiers in their own house. The British said they were housing troops for the colonists’ safety since the troops were there to defend said colonists from attack. The colonists didn’t know why troops were still necessary after the war. They eventually thought that the soldiers had been stationed there to control them and keep them in check, which enraged them even more. This led to the colonists protesting against the Quartering Act in assemblies
