mar 22, 1765 - Stamp Act

Description:

The British wanted to repay their war debt so they imposed a tax on colonist in which they would have to pay tax for every piece of printed paper. The concept enraged the colonists, who had no consent or say in paying those new taxes. Their lack of representation in British government greatly offended them. The colonists responded with petitions, violence, and the boycotting of British goods.
