Description:
Gandhi abided by a principle of peaceful civil disobedience as a reliable strategy in confrontation. A national independence movement of peaceful protest led to the death of 379 Indians and over 1,000 wounded individuals. Gandhi fought for independence through non-violent crusade in order to shatter the British economy in terms of their production of goods such as salt, as well as the imposition of the salt tax.
