Description:
Garden Director Dr. Frits Went, who was known as an expert in plant growth, wanted a greenhouse that didn’t have interior subdivisions. This resulted in the construction of the Climatron, which opened in 1960.
It replaced the Palm House as the main greenhouse and represented a symbol of the future.
