may 3, 1765 - Quartering Act May 3rd 1765

Description:

On the third of May, parliament passed the Quartering act which was that colonists were to house the soldiers. The British rationale of this was that tired soldiers who fought in the war but could not find room in the barracks were still to be treated and housed with room and board.
However, because this was encroachment at its finest, many colonists reacted poorly and protested in assemblies. They believed that it was unfair and the soldiers were taking away figurative freedom.
