sep 1, 1764 - CURRENCY ACT
September 1, 1764
Description:
The British required the colonial assemblies to stop issuing paper money (again for the British to gain extra money from the colonists). This was a common practice during the war. The colonists, of course, were angry since this act made it more difficult to pay debts and taxes. The colonists rejected/ignored this act.
