Discovered the nucleus of an atom by shooting alpha particle at a thin sheet of gold to find that the alpha particle shot off in different directions. This indicated there was something in the middle of an atom.

Rutherford's nuclear model is the most famous, which consists of 3 rings around the nucleus of an atom with electrons orbiting on the rings.
