oct 7, 1763 - PROCLAMATION OF 1763
October 7, 1763
Description:
The British created this event to control the westward movement past the Appalachian Mountains in order to reduce the conflicts with the Indians in those areas. The White colonists refused to follow this rule because they felt like they were being pressured upon by the British (they were violating their rights). The colonists proceeded to ignore this rule and continued to move west.
