jan 1, 973 - End of direct Fatimid rule in the Maghrib

Description:

- Fatimid caiph al-Mu'izz moved to Egypt after the Fatimid army managed to conquer Egypt.

- He appointed a Berber chief named Buluggin ibn Ziri who had been allies with the Fatimids for a long time, as the new governor of Ifriqiyya.

- The Zirid dynasty ruled Ifriqiyya for 70 years where they slowly adopted Maliki ideology and finally renunciated Fatimid authority.
