may 20, 1774 - Intolerable Acts

Description:

The Intolerable Acts were five laws that were passed by the British Parliament against the American Colonies. The British passed these acts as payback for the Boston Tea Party. 1)Gives the British Governor power of the town meetings, which takes control out of the colonists hands. 2)Closed the port of Boston to all colonists. 3) Colonists had to open homes for the British troops. 4) Gave British authorities immunity to prosecution of laws. 5) Extended the borders of Canad to cut off the colonists from Virginia, Massachusetts, and Conneticut.
