Description:
Lt. William Dudingston, was the Captain of the HMS Gaspee. A British ship deployed off coast of Rhode Island. Its job was to intercept ships that may be smuggling goods. On June 9, 1772, it was attacked, and burned by the "Sons of Liberty group" a small band of Patriots said to be founded and led by Samuel Adams.
