The English Bill of Rights was created to make sure that a situation like James II wouldn’t occur again. The English Bill of Rights limited the monarch power by making the main power of the government the Parliament. It provided security for the Church of England and protected against any counter revolution from James or his people on the side of Roman Catholicism. Many of the ideas from the English Bill of Rights were used in the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Although, the English Bill of Rights did not give freedom of the press, religion, or speech.
The English Bill of Rights was important because it protected it’s citizens and it helped the Revolution Settlement and became England’s Constitution. It is also important because it helped with ideas of the Bill of Rights today
