Description:
King Louis XVI was executed by guillotine at the Place de la Revolution on January 21 1793. He was convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers by the National convention and sentenced to death. Louis and Marie Antoinette had been arrested by the sans culottes in August of 1792, and Louis was convicted of Treason in November of that year.
