On this day in a indoor tennis court (salle du jeu de paume) the members of the third estate who had formed a national assembly took an oath in the terms of, "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established". This was a Turning point in the French Revolution.
