The first ever slave ship with slaves arrived in Virginia in 1619. We don’t really know if they were slaves and the colonists weren’t racist at the time they arrived. The colonists used the African Americans to help them survive. They helped us farm tobacco. They were shipped unwillingly and most of them died on the journey over to the Americas.Added to timeline:
