apr 1, 1927 - Quota quickies introduced

Description:

By law of the Cinematograph Films Act 1927, 7.5 to 20% of films shown in Britain had to be British. To fill this criteria, quota quickies were produced. These were low cost, low quality films that could be made quickly and easily.

Quota quickies changed the film industry in the UK as less international films were shown and the expectations for British films were lower because of these quick, low cost films.
