jul 1, 1888 - Kinetoscope
Description:
The Kinetoscope was invented by William Kennedy Laurie Dixon. He was an employee working for Thomas Edison.
It was patented by Edison in 189, and very few people were able to utilise the design; Edison had a tight grasp on it's usage.
The Kinteoscope used spools of 33mm film. It had an eye piece to be able to watch-back the footage.
This is significant because this is the first time the general public is able to view moving images (or film). This sparks interest in the film industry, where other people would take this and improve on the design (as seen later).
