nov 6, 2012 - Colorado Amendment #64

Description:

The Colorado Amendment #64 was a change to the Constitution of the State of Colorado outlining the statewide drug policy for cannabis. The law addresses "personal use and regulation of marijuana" for adults 21 and over, as well as commercial cultivation, manufacture, and sale: regulating marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol, namely for recreational use. This Amendment to the State of Colorado would be an increase in the power for states to decide whether Cannabis could be used for recreational use. The state of Colorado decided that it was okay and this led to the conflict over if states had the power to do so. Ultimately, they kind of do and this increased the power of the States.
