Description:
In efforts to expand Tanganyika, the administrator of the German East Africa Company purchased most of the Comoros Islands [Except for Mayotte]. Though even years later, German control of the islands were loose and the natives held a great deal of autonomy in the colony.
In November 1903, the two remaining islands would be given their own colonial administration under German East Africa as the Comoros Protectorate.
