mar 21, 1358 - Jacquerie Uprising

Description:

A peasant's revolt in Northern France during the Hundred Year's War. During the time, mercenaries that had previously employed by the English were pillaging the countryside. The French peasantry was angry that the nobles were not able to protect them, as was their obligation in the feudal system. This anger resulted in several weeks of riots during which peasants sacked the houses of nobles and knights.
