Born June 19, 1623 in Clerrmont-Ferrand, France, Blaise Pascal was a French mathematician best known for his theories of probabilities known as Pascal's principle, and his invention of a calculating machine called the pascaline. Pascal lived in Clerrmont-ferrand and would remain here until 1631 where his family moved to Paris. Once Blaise´s mathematical days were behind him, he lived the rest of his years in Port Royal until August 19,1662 dieing as a young man of an enlarged stomach tumor at age 39.
