oct 7, 1763 - Proclamation of 1763
Description:
After the French and Indian War ended, King George III passed the proclamation to create three new colonies, extend Georgia's boarders and give land to those who fought in the war. As a further attempt to keep peace with the Indians the proclamation prohibited colonist to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. However the proclamation was not taken seriously, and eventually in exchange for cash the Iroquois traded land (which they did not live on). This caused wars between the English and Indians that lived on these lands. As indians countiued to lose land things became tense.
