Description:

Due to the economic effects of the war, the rich levied taxes on the poor to continue financing their lifestyles, and the French peasants rebelled. Crowds looted and burned castles. The revolt was put down through violence through execution of both the innocent and the guilty. However, since no attempt was made to alleviate the root cause of the revolt, social tensions continued to manifest.
